"...I don't work with separate areas, and there is no preestablished plan or rough draft. Colors are always overunning each other, usually generating a third color.
I don't use a very wide palette: basically some shades of violet, aluminum powder and a number of yellows. However abstract the paintings may seem, they contain an entire tradition of representation. The color pervades the work and is interrupted by a sort of explosion of contrasting shades that well up from the painting onto the surface."
